Q + A

Hotels around the wedding

We'll be staying in Susukino at 41 Pieces Hotel 7/3-7/6. Unfortunately with the language barrier we were unable to figure out much in the way of group discounts. Anywhere from Sapporo Station down to Nakajima Park would be a good base of operation. Anywhere along the green Namboku line or blue Toho line will make it easy to get to and from the venue.

Trains

Sapporo Station will give you the most access to get to other places and to and from the airport fastest. Susukino station area will be more nightlife-ey and foodie. Reccomend getting a physical IC card or loading something like SUICA to your wallet if you a have an iPhone to easily use the trains.

Flights

Fly into New Chitose (CTS) and catch a train, limo bus, or taxi to your accomodations. Train to Sapporo station is easy depending on how much luggage you're bringing. But will need to transfer if staying further away from the main station. Limo bus is convenient because you can check luggage and they can usually stop at or near your hotel in Susukino or Sapporo. If you get car sick it might not be the best option though. Taxi is the most direct but likely most expensive. Renting a car would also be direct but potentially not necessary if only staying around Sapporo

Welcome BBQ

Attempting to have a small informal get together July 3, the day before the wedding. Details to follow... We're headed to Sapporo end of 4/28-4/30 and will nail down the venue details when we get there

After Party

Trying to have a party after the party FYI

Driving/Car Rentals

We would recommend renting a car if you would like to venture outside of Sapporo/Otaru as it can unlock many more attractions that you can enjoy on your schedule. Japan requires an International Drivers Permit (IDP) to rent a car and you can get it at any AAA. Process is quick but will need to bring passport photos if the AAA location doesn't have a passport photo service. For more details view https://www.aaa.com/vacation/idpf.html Car rental prices are reasonable but recommend booking well in advance (Toyota allows booking up to 3mo in advance) to make sure the vehicle type you want is available. We've had good experiences with Toyota Rent a Car https://rent.toyota.co.jp/eng/
